Chocolate Cheesecake

I love watching cooking shows and then immediately making the yummy things I see. This cheesecake from Lorraine Pascale's Home Cooking Made Easy had to be made. I adore cheesecake anyway and so one packed with tons of chocolate had to be amazing. And it was. We attacked it before I even had a chance to take photos! I made minor adjustments in that I used a different type of chocolate (dairy milk) for the hard top than in the filling and used Bill's orange chocolate buttons to make the pattern. I think the orange made it look almost festive for halloween. It was so good I even made mini ones to take back to university for my housemates.

Chicken and Leek Pie

I know what you're thinking. Savory? But I couldn't resist, after all it's National Baking Week and this pie was delicious. Yesterday it got colder and so I felt like some comfort food was needed. I used the brilliant 'Long Nights and Log Fires' cookbook to make this Chicken, Leek and Tarragon Pot Pie, recipe can be found here. The pastry was really simple and the flavours were great and perfect for a chilly evening.

Birthday Box

I love making cake for my friends, especially for a birthday. I made the vanilla hummingbird cupcake recipe with half vanilla frosting and half nutella frosting and of course used sprinkles for a birthday. I sometimes find it tricky giving people lots of cakes because of them having to return tupperware or tins. This cardboard box was perfect and made them look neat and professional.
